Performed yearly, Jazz in the Park features numerous ensembles from both DDHS and Phoenix Middle School, including the High School’s Lydian Choir, the Phoenix Jazz Ensemble, the High School’s Jazz Lab and Jazz Ensemble. Each year a prominent jazz artist is brought in for the weekend to work with these students and is featured as a guest artist during the performance event.
The DDHS Summer Chamber Orchestra was created to give an outlet to for high school Orchestra students to keep playing in the Summer and get out in the community to perform. The group chooses a variety of music from classic to rock and from all around the world. It’s all about making music and having fun doing so.
Returning for our 4th season, Turtle Creek Chamber Orchestra continues to offer patrons our brand of eclectic classical, jazz, Broadway and show tunes.
We will feature young artists from the community, students who exhibit talent with their perspective instruments, either piano or string. Our performances run a 40 minute first half, with a 15 minute intermission, followed by a 30 minute second half.
Visit our website for downloads of past performances, videos and links to our You Tube pages for sampling of our entertainment.
The Midwest’s Premiere Tribute to Heart
Heartless is a tribute to the music of Heart – and one of the most impressive bands in the Midwest. No other Midwest band can deliver the Wilson sisters’ classic sound – the driving beat, the burning guitar riffs, and the soaring, signature vocals.
